NY Thanksgiving

A lot of days without posting, sorry! I've spent a week in New York to enjoy Thanksgiving with my brother and his family who live there. We also had fun shopping during Black Friday.

There were lots of discounts. 50% in Urban Outfitters and in other places up to 70%!!! I will show you some of my purchases soon.

It was really cold, I really appreciated this vintage fur jacket that I bought in Madrid in Mercado de Motores.

And a bit of culture was a must, so we spent a morning in one of my favorite museums, the Metropolitan. These days you can see a wonderful exhibition with stunning jewels from JAR (Joel A. Rosental) Absolutely breathtaking.

I also recommend the American Wing with the reproduction of a house of marvellous architect Frank Lloyd Wright, mosaics and portarits of beautiful ladies from the 19th and early 20th centuries.

"Madame X". John Singer Sargent

"Magnolia". James Jebusa Shanon

"King Lear". Edwin Austin Abbey

I couldn't leave without visiting again the Ancient Egypt section and be once more amazed with the sophistication of pharaonic women who used fantastic jewels like this crown from the New Kingdom.

...or this set of necklace with bracelets and anklets matching.

Ancient Egypt women were not so different from actual women. Here you can see different toiletries like a mirror, a spatula or tweezers!!!

... and also a variety of jars, flasks and bottles to contain cosmetics including the famous 'khol'.

The beautiful piece with the shape of a swimmer served as a pallet or spoon to mix fat, minerals and plants to make cosmetics.

Bye NY hope to see you soon. LOVE NY!!!!!
